It snowed a little bit yesterday… and by a little bit I mean around 9 inches which set a Dallas Fort Worth Area record - WE ARE FREAKING OUT! I can’t believe how snowy it has been - Last night Whitney and I invited some of our friends over and we ended up having a slumber-party snow in day - We made chili, baked potatoes, made hot drinks, it was pretty awesome

This morning we woke up and had waffles and I took this picture of our street - I realize that if you live virtually anywhere north of Oklahoma this isn’t impressive to you, but for us it is sort of a big deal…

Brandy and Aaron - Gulf Coast Wedding

Brandy and Aaron are pretty stinking cool - These guys found me all the way from south Texas and liked my work so much that they wanted to bring me down south for a Gulf Coast wedding. We talked on the phone a lot, they came up to visit for an engagement session, and finally I got to head down south for the wedding itself. The wedding was so light and fun. They rank towards to the absolute top on laid back couples. They really trusted me with anything and gave me total creative control. It was an absolute delight getting to be apart of your wedding guys - Here is a quick preview and I hope you guys are having a blast being married!

Amanda and Lee - Engaged in Dallas

Amanda was a bridesmaid at Brielle and Will’s wedding in Denton Texas, and now that she is engaged I was excited to hear she wanted us to be a part of her wedding as well. Amanda and Lee met me out in the very cold weather on Flag Pole Hill, and while it may have been a bit chilly we made sure they kept each other warm. I’m excited for their wedding later this year, but for now I’m super pumped to show you these pictures

Kelly and Sam - Ft. Worth Bass Hall Wedding

Kelly and Sam chose to have their wedding at the ultra beautiful First United Methodist in Fort Worth and then their reception at Van Cliburn Hall at the Bass Hall in Downtown Ft. Worth Texas. I loved hanging out with these guys during the engagement session and then got a chance to meet the rest of Kelly’s family during her bridal session - Everyone was great to be around, so welcoming. We had fantastic light for much of the early afternoon and I think it really added a punch to a lot of the photos. Once at the reception we were treated to Trey and the Tritones. I was really impressed with their variety as well as how well the kept the crowd on the dance floor!

Elizabeth and Michael - Maple Manor Dallas Wedding

Elizabeth and Michael picked Maple Manor hotel, a small quiet hotel attached to The Old Warsaw which is nestled between huge buildings just north of Downtown Dallas. I always like shooting at Maple Manor because it seems like you are more removed from the city, but just one look up and you see you are right in the middle of town. Elizabeth and Michael’s wedding was different than a lot of the weddings I shot this year. Both were bringing children with them into the marriage, and because of this the whole process felt like family was really important. When I meet with couples I usually talk about how my biggest priority is to show relationships in my pictures, and for these guys that was really important. We included the kids in the engagement portraits, they were included in the wedding party, they stood at their parents feet during the toasts, and they danced with them all night during the reception. Clearly Michael and Elizabeth were the rock-stars, but I like it when family and friends have a big role in the day.

Guys it was great getting to know you through this whole process - I wish you the very best!

Jessica and Bill: Southlake Wedding

Jessica and Bill had their ceremony at the Saint Christopher Episcopal Church in Ft. Worth and then their reception in their beautiful backyard in Southlake Texas. They really spent a lot of time and energy making their wedding everything they wanted and it really showed. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day.

We were lucky enough to get a chance to photograph Natalie and Curt’s wedding in Waxahachie Texas. The ceremony and reception were next door to each other and tents were brought in because of a chance of rain, but the rain held off. In a stretch of an amazing amount of rain here in Texas the weather was so great. We wish you guys the best and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the images.

Ashley [+] Paul - Wedding

Ashley and Paul had their wedding in August at the beautiful Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, and their reception at the very fancy and cool Park City Club. Both Ashley and Paul are musicians so music was an extremely important aspect of their wedding - Paul, who sings for the Barber shop group - The Vocal Majority, brought his friends to sing both for the ceremony and even a special song during the reception, and Ashley was able to get a few very talented musicians to play for the ceremony as well.

Mandi [+] Jeremy - Ft. Worth Texas Wedding

Alright get ready because I have a mega blog post coming right now - Mandi and Jeremy’s wedding was over in Arlington at the Advent Lutheran Church and the reception was at the awesome patio at Joe T. Garcia’s in Ft. Worth. We have an absolute ton of favorite images and I’m so bad at narrowing things down so here you go!

I love these next few images right before the ceremony -

after the group pictures all the guys headed to 7-11 for some Slurpee’s… did I mention the wedding date was 7-11…

We took advantage of the really cool setting of Joe T. Garcia’s to do some portraits -

At the end of the evening the DJ had everyone leave (except for us of course!) and Mandi and Jeremy had their last dance.

Mika [+] Drew - Wedding

Mika and Drew said their vows at Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, and their reception was held at the pretty new Studio 1019 in the Design District - Both places were really beautiful venue’s for weddings and that combined with the wonderful families made the day very special - We wish you guys the best, and hope you enjoy our favorite images as much as we do!

a couple of reception details

The reception had two pretty unique events - The first was a toast/story time where anyone could get the mic for a minute or two…

The second was a trivia game about Mika and Drew - The winner got two free Southwest Airlines tickets!

There was plenty of air-guitar at this wedding …

And at the end of it all, Mika and Drew had an last dance all to themselves… Well, almost all to themselves, we were there taking pictures of it of course!
